Metalcore is a fusion genre incorporating elements of hardcore punk and extreme metal. The name is a portmanteau of heavy metal and hardcore punk. The term took on its current meaning in the mid-1990s, describing bands like "Earth Crisis", "Merauder", "Deadguy" and "Integrity". The earliest of these groups, "Integrity", began performing in 1989. 27 сентября в Кременчуге состоялось долгожданное всей прогрессивной молодёжью Полтавщины событие-областной фестиваль современной молодёжной культуры «Extreme-zone IV». Мероприятие собрало все направления современной молодёжной культуры урбанизированных городов. Зрителей ожидал стритбол - бескомпромиссный уличный баскетбол, безумные трюки на ВМХ, триал, скейтбординг, графити-шоу, выступления рок- и рэп-команд. Фестиваль был абсолютно новым явлением - организаторы обеспечили «Евросцену» с качественным мощным звуком и светом. Проведение фестиваля четвёртый год подряд дало возможность развить на высоком профессиональном уровне общественно полезные формы молодёжной альтернативной и неформальной культуры в Кременчуге. Организатором фестиваля является Кременчугский городской комитет молодёжных организаций, а его проведение стало возможно, благодаря мэру Николаю Глухову, управлению по делам семьи и молодёжи Полтавской областной государственной администрации, отделу по делам семьи и молодёжи горисполкома и Молодёжному Парламенту Кременчуга. Хочется надеяться, что пропаганда общественно полезных форм молодёжной альтернативной культуры позволит направить усилия молодёжи в конструктивное русло и положительно повлияет на процессы самоопределения и самоусовершенствования молодёжи. Поэтому, я современный и прогрессивный - показал новый уровень экстрима всей кременчугской тусовке, выступив на фестивале «Extreme-zone IV»!
